This wedding was lots of fun. It was super cold but we lucked out and there was NO RAIN...almost unheard of here in the northwest in December! But no complaining from us! We just enjoyed the sun and the wonderful day. I enjoyed working with this couple. They were super sweet and you can just see how much they love each other. :) They have been super patient with me while I've tried to work through all the holidays in the last month. I'm happy to share their preview with you even though they are going to see them today anyway. :) Congrats Andrew and Rebecca! I hope your new life together is WONDERFUL!

Claire { 6 days new }

This sweet little lady made her mommy and daddy wait a long 9 days past her due date before they would be able to see her beautiful face. She proved to them that she was the one in charge now...and she also let me know that as well...first by not being born until the day that we had first set to do her newborn session...and then when we did finally get to do it she was wide awake for the first 2/3 of the session! But I wasn't too worried because I knew that we would eventually win and she would eventually fall deeply into a sweet slumber and that...she did! We won..but it wasn't for long...she just liked to show us all her beautiful eyes and I'm sure she just didn't want to miss all the partying we were doing. ;) I sure hope mom got a nice long nap after I left though! Congrats you guys...Miss Claire is beautiful! I hope you enjoy your preview...which is rather large..I couldn't just pick a few. :)

I totally forgot to add this one, and it was one of the best parts of our session! We went on a little adventure to find some horses to take pictures with...and thank goodness I have some friends with a few that were so nice to let us take some pics with them. Ashley is a HUGE horse LOVER..if you couldn't already tell by the boots and hats. ;0)

This BEAUTIFUL girl happens to be related to me...she's my little cousin! I was so excited to be able to do her senior pictures.....even though I can NOT believe that she's graduating this year! I remember when she was born. That's just makes me feel super old! Anyway, she's been super patient with me and has waited quite a while for these pictures. With the holidays and the kids being off school and being out of town for a bit..I just haven't had the time to get things done on the computer like I've wanted. So for those of you still waiting for a preview or your CD...I promise...it's coming! I'm getting caught up!

I love getting to see people that I haven't seen in YEARS! It's always fun to catch up and see how everyone is doing. This session was no different...except for the fact that it was probably about 35 degrees outside and we were all doing jumping jax to stay warm! But we couldn't complain too much because it was NOT raining and the fog lifted just enough to give a beautiful morning at Cathedral Park. The little ones did soo good and even if they didn't think I was funny they sure thought their DAD was!!! I wish I could have seen what he was doing behind me to make them crack! I could use him at all my sessions! :)

Another day of no rain...but man...It sure is getting CHILLY out there!!! I'm so glad all my clients are so willing even when the weather isn't as wonderful as the summer sun. I had a great time with this sweet family. It was so good to meet them...especially little Miss "M"...You can tell she just loves her Mommy and Daddy...and they sure do LOVE her! It's always fun for me to see new little families. It's hard for me to remember what it was like with just one little one!! :)

Ok..so I thought that the last senior session I did would be the LAST one but guess not...and I'm glad because this young lady was super fun and absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I'm pretty sure she should go into modeling....that's my opinion though...I'll let you decide for your self!
It was a REALLY cold day...but the sunlight was PERFECT! It was almost a little tease of the old summer light that has now left us.

It's been about 6 months since I've photographed Miss Piper and I think I've missed those sweet eyes and cute smile! It was super fun to photograph the whole family outdoors at Cathedral Park...even if it was SUPER cold. We lucked out with yet another DRY Saturday for their session! Piper was a trooper in the cold and so were mom and dad!

This time of year is probably my favorite for all the beautiful colors all around. It sure reminds me of all the wonderful things in life to be grateful for!

My little cousin is ENGAGED!!! Crazy! It seems like just yesterday he was 3 running around and causing trouble! But I guess none of us stay little forever huh?!? I loved this session..because they were SOO fun and silly. It was the ONLY session so far this season that I have had rain but we tried not to let that ruin the fun. And as you can see...their LOVE for each other totally make up for the nasty weather! Love you guys!!! Congrats! Can't wait for the BIG DAY!

This was supposed to be a nasty rainy day...and it was up until it was time for this session. I think someone has been looking out for me and knows that I don't have time to reschedule sessions because I have not had to reschedule one session due to the weather so far. There were a little sprinkles at the beginning but it cleared up and we had fun watching Ava splash in the puddles. It was soo fun to meet up with this Cute family. Have I ever said that before?!? Well sessions like this..with beautiful people like this...just makes me happy! It sure makes my job easy when my clients could be models themselves! Even Mister Oliver was a stud and we did talk about him going into doggie modeling. What do you think??? I just LOVE this family! This happens to be because they are my cousins. Growing up I remember trips to Seattle to visit and to go to Wild Waves which was just up the street from their house. I even remember going and staying a few summers when the kids where little and helping change diapers and I even remember teaching the youngest girl how to say "Cool Dude" when she was 2! I have lots of fond memories of this family that I'm sure to never forget. And now they are all growing up and getting married! How does this happen??!! I wish I could stop time and keep everyone little for long enough but I just can't. :(

I had a great time photographing them...even though it rained on the whole trip up there and we kind of got a late start and lost quite a bit of light due to the clouds..we still got lucky and it didn't rain at all while we were taking pictures. And as you can see...we all had fun!

Stay on the look out for engagement pictures to come in the next couple weeks from Tyler and his new fiance! I'm sure it will be just as FUN-filled as this session was!

Well....that was 1 year ago and now that beautiful baby girl is now a YEAR old and just as CUTE as can be! It seriously amazes me how fast the time flies and how much these little ones grow. I love to see their personalities blossom. Little Miss Riley has just turned in to such a fun little girl. She sure loved laughing at her Daddy. I feel blessed to know this beautiful family and also a bit sad that my sweet Tanner didn't get little Riley's Mom as his 1st grade teacher this year. :( He was really hoping...and so was I. I can't believe that little Liam...isn't so "little" any more! He's already about to turn 1!!!! It seems like just yesterday he was a little 3 week old and we were doing newborn pictures of him!!! Liam and his momma came to stay with us this weekend and I got do a fun little session with him in the vacant lot up the street. Some people think that they can't get their family's pictures taken because their kids are too crazy or that they wont cooperate or whatever the case may be...BUT..I'm here to tell you that no family is perfect and that with a lot bribing, playing, bribing, and some more playing...we can get that perfect picture for you! I PROMISE!!! Here is a great example of 2 adorable little guys...who I'm sure were just trying to test me out and see what they could and could not get away with and guess who won??!! ME. Most of the time a few smarties will do the trick and turn those frowns and grumpy faces in to those sweet adorable smiles that we as parents all long for in our pictures. Sooooo...if you think you're kids wont crack...just give it a try! Sometimes it takes a few of the "OTHER" shots to get the "ONE" that we want..and in the meantime...you have a great story to tell with pictures to go with it! That my friends equals PERFECTION! Not just the "PERFECT" picture in the end but the WHOLE experience!

This family has been SOOOOOO patient in waiting for their preview! THANK YOU! I came down with a nasty kidney infection...well, maybe while I was shooting their session last Saturday. I just didn't realize how bad it was until Monday when I went in to the Dr. And that's when everything got pretty awful. It completely wiped me out this last week and I am just now trying to get back on my feet and get caught up on these pictures.

This session was super fun...but DANG HOT!!! I think this happened to be the hottest weekend of the whole year! They were such troopers and even ended up walking about a mile on this trail to fine that awesome bridge.

I must say that I LOVE this location and I'm soo thankful to my good friends parents for letting me use their property. Each time I go up there it's always different, which makes me work harder, but also it provides a little bit different session for each family. This time was no exception...in fact....this time we pulled out a bunch of the old trucks and just kept snapping away. It was fun to see how excited "Dad" got with each one that was brought out of the shop. I was excited as well...with each one that pulled out, I had visions in my head with what I could do with them. It was like a parking lot out in the field by the time we were all done though. :) We sure had us a good time!

I grew up with this family..or they grew up with me..or how every you want to say it..but I just CAN'T believe how old everyone is and that they are all going on missions for church, getting married, having babies, going to college, and the baby of the family is now a junior in high school!!! That just makes me feel old! This family is just beautiful inside and out and I'm so glad to know them. We were missing one brother who is currently serving a mission but they made sure not to leave him out...they made him a shirt as well and will be sending it along with these pictures. So much FUN!

What a FUN couple!!! I got to spend my evening with them last night and it was a blast! Mister "N" didn't know what to think of me in the beginning and was quite hesitant about the whole picture thing but it sure didn't take long to break him out of his shell. You can see that they are just fun loving and easy going people..which makes my job that much easier! I'm soo excited to photograph their wedding on....get this....11/11/2011!! Isn't that the coolest wedding date ever? So stay tuned for some bridal pictures and the wedding to come! If it's anything like these engagement pics..it will be a BLAST!

I was only going to do one beach session but when this sweet family couldn't make it the first time I kind of felt bad, and since our family had soo much fun playing at the beach and since we haven't done much of that in the last few years, I thought it would be fun to go again...and it just so happened that it all worked out! Sooo fun when I get to meet up with old friends and see how their kids have grown! This sweet family has kids almost the exact same ages as mine but just opposite. I had 2 boys, a girl and then another boy and they had 2 girls, a boy and then another girl! Funny huh?! I actually got (had) to take my kids with me for this session and it turned out great. The kids all got to play together for a little while in between shots.

It turned out to be a beautiful evening at Indian Beach. Couldn't have asked for anything better! It was soo great to meet up with this beautiful family. The mom is an old childhood friend that I don't think I've seen for probably 8+ years. That's one thing that's so great about this job..I get to catch up with old friends and also meet new ones.

The Session Deposit is a new thing that will be required for all sessions. This deposit can be paid here on my blog over to the right under the Photo Session Fee/Balances section. Once I receive confirmation of this payment your time and date will be secured!

All sessions that have already been book with me previous to August 1st are locked in at the original price and do not need to pay the session deposit.

Starting August 1st, there will be a few changes happening. I've been doing a lot of thinking and with things getting busier and my time seeming to get less and less with each passing day, I've had to change things up a little with my photography business. On another note...I'm opening up a few days in the coming months for Family Mini Sessions. Each day there will be 6 time slots, with each session being 20-25 minutes in length. These session will be rain or shine and there will not be an option for rescheduling at the mini session price.

I've watched this BEAUTIFUL young lady go from a pre-teen to now a Senior in High School! It's amazing to me how fast these kids grow up! It was a pleasure to do her senior portraits...We had a BLAST and she even climbed into a waterfall and got wet just for the sake of some pictures! Good Luck Morgan during your up-coming senior year! A wedding on a beautiful Summer evening! Can't get much better than this...
I had soo much fun photographing this couple on their special day. They made the time pass quickly and made me feel like part of the clan. I'll admit that I was a bit nervous when I got the call to do this wedding but all my nerves went away the first time I met the bride. She was so wonderful and kind. The last time I did this sweet family's pictures they had one less child. What fun they have now with 2 girls and 2 boys to complete their family! They were all such great troopers to brave the heat even at 10am. They are getting ready to move FAR away from all their family so they made the long drive from Virgina back to Portland to see everyone one last time before they head out of the country for the next 3 years. It was fun to catch up with them again and see how much the little ones have grown in just one year.

Well, after almost a year of being in Germany, they are all back together and back home for just a little while before going back again. I've been patiently waiting for this little girl to make her debut for what feels like a couple years! My great friend Jenni Price, also a Photographer...and an AMAZING one at that, finally had her little baby girl and today we got to have quite a bit of fun with her! One of these days I hope Jenni and I will team up to do newborn photography because we make an awesome team! It was SOO much fun and Miss Lyla was the PERFECT model! She let us just play the afternoon away...4 hours worth of just PURE SWEET GOODNESS! We both were pretty much in HEAVEN! Congratulations Price Family on the newest addition! She just BEAUTIFUL!

I've been working on these for a while now. I'm finally nearing the end of the editing for this wedding. As I finish up, I just wanted to share a few more that spoke to me. I used to say that I hated to photograph weddings, but I think I've had a change of heart. It's so fun to capture that amazing love in a couples eyes and face on such a special day. Reminds me of my wedding day and those special feelings that were felt. :)

This might just be the most precious picture I took of little Sawyer. He was not even 24 hours old when this picture was taken and it just melts my heart. It makes me long for that experience of those first few days of having a new life come into your family. There's NOTHING in this world that can compare to that first day and all the emotions that go along with it. I was so happy that I got to meet him while still so new.

Here's the ones you've all been waiting for.....it turned out to be an amazing day that morning. The forecast called for showers all day but lots of prayers were answered that morning because there was not a drop of rain that came down while we were taking pictures at the Temple. Now....for the reception...that's a different story but thank goodness it was inside! Here's just a few of my favorites. I could have taken pictures all day of this cute couple and their families. Another one of the kids that I baby sat when I was younger is now getting married!!!! (well, just got married yesterday!) We did these bridals a few weeks ago but I was afraid that her soon-to-be hubby would cheat and look at them and see her dress before the BIG DAY so I decided to wait to post them. She was brave walking around downtown Portland in her dress. She got lots of honks and comments on how beautiful she looked...and I agree 100%! She was stunning.

Remember Little Miss Riley Jo? Well now...she's 6 months old and just as BEAUTIFUL as before. This particular day was one of Mother Nature's recent mood swing days. She just couldn't decide if she was happy, sad, or just plain mad! We had rain, sun, and even HAIL this day and we just weren't sure if we would get a break in the showers. I said a little prayer on the way to the location and it looked like it might let up. Then once we got out of the car...down came the showers AGAIN! We waited under an umbrella for a few minutes and just as we decided to go wait it out in the car...TA-DA!!! The rain stopped and the clouds broke apart and the Beautiful sun graced us with it's appearance. We had to work fast because who knew how long we'd have RIGHT?! It turned out to be just perfect and we had about 40 minutes of sun and once we decided we were done, down came the HAIL! It was CRAZY! I'm so thankful that we got some great shots in such a short amount of time. They were great sports for putting up with the mud, rain, and hail and of course ME!

Every time I look at this picture I just see sooo much LOVE! Can you see the Heart that I see?!? Soo Sweet!

I feel like it took FOREVER for this little guy to get here but that could be because I know about him when he was just about 5 weeks along in his Mommy's tummy. I have been waiting 8 months for him to finally arrive so we could take pictures. Isn't he just sweet?! I think he's the smallest newborn that I've photographed. He was only 6lbs 2oz at birth. We had our fill of poo...and pee...but I think his Mom and Dad will agree that it was all worth it. Big sister on the other hand wasn't feeling to great so she didn't really want to have anything to do with him that day...but I'm glad she was happy enough for a few family shots. I love this family soo much and am so excited for their cute little family. Congrats again you guys! He's Perfect!

Mister "B" didn't want to come out of his nice comfy warm place in his momma's belly when it was time so he had to be kicked out 5 days after his due date (which they think was a week off already!) because his momma was DONE! And it's a good thing they did because he weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 5.6oz!! By far the biggest newborn that I have ever photographed but he was sooo cute and squishy and just perfect! His brothers are for sure in LOVE with him. They were concerned about him the whole time I was taking pictures. It was fun to hold him and remember that my Tanner was that same size when he was born! I had forgotten how big he was! It's funny how time makes you forget the little things like that.

Arriving only 2 days before Christmas...I think this is for sure the best present this sweet family could have asked for!

I used to babysit this beautiful young lady and now she's getting married!!!! I can't believe it! Makes me feel SOOO OLD! But none-the-less...I'm SO happy for her. You can see the love in their eyes in every single photo that I took. It was a typical December day in Oregon...RAIN & COLD. I'm pretty sure that Ashley couldn't feel her feet by the end of the session and my fingers were frozen but we sure had a great time!

I can't wait for the wedding in May! It will be BEAUTIFUL I'm sure.

I don't normally do "Newborn" portraits past the 2 week mark but I had to make an exception for this sweet family. They just moved into a new house and of course they NEED pictures to hang on those bare walls right?!? Mister Landon was a stinker for the first hour of our session but man..once we got him asleep...he was OUT and we were FINALLY able to get some cute shots. And big sister was great as well! She sure loves her baby brother.

Another fun session! It was great to meet this amazing mom and her 2 kids. This day was COLD...but there was no rain so we had to take advantage of that this time of year, right?! They were all such troopers. Even with all the wind which made it that much colder!! I loved all their fun ideas. We had the opportunity to go to Boise, Idaho for Thanksgiving this year to be with my Husband's family. It was great to be around so much family that we don't get to see very often. While we were there it snowed and it was FREEZING! That weather again proved why I do NOT ever want to live there. Seriously..I think one night it was like -3 or something crazy like that. Too cold to even enjoy the snow.

Anyway, while there, I had the pleasure of taking some senior photos of my husbands cousin. He's quite the stud don't you think ladies?! Schuyler is one of the NICEST guys I know. Such a gentleman and just super sweet. I was fun spending a little while getting to know him a little better. He even braved the FREEZING temperatures and LAID down in the snow!!! I may have just jokingly suggested it but really....he's NUTS! Such a good sport to do these for his sweet mother. I'm glad we did them..I think they turned out great!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your senior year Schuyler!!! I really can't believe you are that old already!

BRRRRR!!! Baby it's COLD outside

The day that I took this sweet family's portraits it SNOWED! The first snow of the year and man was it COLD! So we opted for an indoor session instead. They did brave the cold for one quick shot with the beautiful white fluffy stuff.

I have photography half of this family before and it was so nice to meet the other half who came from the other side of the country.

And of course we had to get some shots of Grandpa's 3 famous faces.

Fletcher {2011 Senior}

Well, I thought I was finished will all my senior sessions, and then I got a call from this handsome guy saying that he needed them done and ready to turn into the school by November 30th! Nothing like waiting till the last minute right?! Especially since we are headed out of town in the morning and won't be back until late on the 30th. So we prayed for the rain to stop..and then we got word that it was supposed to snow..so we prayed for that to not happen..and guess what?! We got sooo lucky! It sprinkled a little during the session but we could handle that! It turned out great! It was great to meet Fletcher and I'm so glad he was willing to go out in the cold and wet to get these done. He was even a gentleman and carried that chair around for half the session.

Congratulations Fletcher! I hope you enjoy your final year of high school!

Meet my newest nephew!
One of the perks of having your newborn nephew live with you...trying new poses and ideas! I don't usually like to do newborns past the 2 week mark but I must say...once he was asleep...he was a CHAMPION! A perfect model! He was even doing so good that I just kept snapping away and missed Carson's dentist appointment! I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures of this little guy to come!

Remember Little Nolan and his big brother Owen? Well, here's the whole family. Beautiful family, beautiful evening, and a few great stories to tell after this short session. See that wagon wheel? Well about 30 seconds after we were done shooting there a police officer pulled right up to that house and we thought for sure someone had called to say we were trespassing..even though we weren't. But then a few minutes later an ambulance showed up and then a few more minutes a fire truck came. What are the odds that someone was hurt or sick or something at that house that we just randomly found?! It was pretty crazy! I'm glad we got a few good shots from that spot because it's a great story to tell!
